concentration statement
My concentration is based on aquatic life. As a child i always swam in my pool or when my family and i went to the ocean, my attention was fousced on the water and what kind of life lived beneath it. I was interegaed by the mysterious habitat that covered the ocean top to flower. For my body of work i will be making eight sets of jewelry inspired by the colors and movement of the ocean. Each set will contain a total of three pieces, one necklace and a pair of earrings. The technique i will be using to create my jewelry is called glass fusion, by using a microkiln. The color themes and shapes of each piece will be picked based on a part of the ocean and ocean life. By using glass fusion my glass will give off the appearance of being beach glass or the flowing textures as the ocean
Artist hero
Josh Simpson. Josh Simpson doesnt just take glass and throws it together, he has a way and passion behind it. His motivation is by the natural world and from the material itself. I admire Josh because he doesnt just see the glass, he sees what is with in the glass and finds a way to transorm the raw material into wonderful works of art. I picked Josh to be my artist hero over many other artists because his art really moves me in a way that i want to make my own creations better. My concentration is based off of the beauity of the natural world and what habitats are corporated with in it. His work repersents the world outside of earth, outer space. I have picked something that i find important to me, the world within us, below the ocean. We both bypassed the world we live in to find a high ground of meaning to us and for that reason, Josh Simpson is my artist hero.

Chris Heilman. Chris Heilman and i have a simlar interest in the ocean and the wonders it holds. Chris's Coral Reef Series evolves from his recent interest in scuba diving, which gives him the opportunity to express his fascination with the mysterious world of inner space, the coral reef.
"Myriad colors of encrusting sponges, design of coral colonies and detail of coral reef fish land opportunity to exciting new ways of personal expression and expansion of technique in the glass media." Chris uses his materials in a creative stand point to express his passion and found interest in coral reefs. I picked Chris Heilma for my second artist hero because i am really pulled toward his work and im interested in his processes. From diving to creating to his mater peices, each peice shows the care and love Chris has in each works of art.
